Abstract:China has the largest mariculture production all over the world, the use of plant protein in marine fish diet growing popularity, and the resulting intestinal damage of marine fish has gradually been considered by more and more people. The use of a lot of plant protein in diet for marine fish can induce the intestinal inflammatory reaction. Intestinal mucosal barrier function integrity and intestinal microflora dynamic balance are the primary prerequisite and important guarantee for intestinal health. This review presents the research progress of intestinal mucosal barriers and intestinal microbiota in marine fish fed plant protein, such as soybean meal. The review will be helpful for comprehending the current research of intestinal health in marine fish and provide references for further research and exploitation in this field.
