Abstract:The normally operation of the program within the body is depend on the coordination among different signal transduction pathways. transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1/Smads signaling pathway among numerous pathways has received increasing attention by scholars and became a research hot point in molecular and cell biology. It has been confirmed that TGF-β1/Smads signaling pathway is the indispensible way to regulate the development of ovarian follcles. In this paper, the regulatory role and mechanism of TGF-β1/Smads signaling pathway in mammalian ovarian development were reviewed in aspect of TGF-β receptor, Smads protein, bone morphogenetic protein (BMP), thrombospondin 1 (THB-S1), S-phase kinase association protein 1 (SKP1) and other regulatory mechanism. This review is aim to draw attention to the regulation of TGF-β1/Smads in ovarian development and provide some reference for the treatment of some diseases during ovarian development.
