Abstract

Spray-dried animal plasma (SDAP) is frequently used as an ingredient of weanling piglets diets because of its comprehensive and balanced nutrition, high digestibility, good palatability and active immune substances. This paper had reviewed the main effective component in SDAP and the effects of SDAP on systemic and intestinal antioxidant capacity and immunity, hormone secretion, and nutrient absorption in piglets. The mechanism of SDAP in gut of weanling piglets was also elaborated.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition, 2011, 23(5):720 -725]
