The uniform design method was used to study the formula of compound acidifiers. Two types of acidifiers, i.e. phosphoric acid type (acidifier A) and lactic acid type (acidifier B), with 6 different formulas for each type were selected. Based on the pH of feed, acidbinding capacity and the bacteriostatic ability of the two types of acidifiers with different formulas, a regression equation was set and the optimum formula was determined with stepwise regression analysis method. Results indicated that the optimum effects occurred when the phosphoric acid, citric acid, fumaric acid and calcium formiate of acidifier A accounted for 30%, 20%, 20% and 5%, respectively, while the optimum effects occurred when the lactic acid, citric acid, and fumaric acid of acidifier B accounted for 40%, 20% and 20%, respectively. It was concluded that the study of acidifier formula with the uniform design method was feasible and the test efficiency of formula of acidifier study was improved with the uniform design method.
