Abstract:
This experiment was conducted to study the effects of linoleic acid level in wheat and soybean meal type diet on growth performance, lipid metabolism, antioxidant capacity and immune function of goslings, and to further explore the appropriate linoleic acid level in wheat and soybean meal type diet. A total of 360 one-day-old Wulong geese were randomly divided into 6 groups with 6 replicates per group and 10 geese (half male and half female) per replicate. Geese in group Ⅰ (control group) were fed a basal diet (linoleic acid level was 0.52%), and geese in experimental groups (groups Ⅱ to Ⅵ) were fed experimental diets (linoleic acid level were 0.72%, 0.92%, 1.12%, 1.32% and 1.52%, respectively). The experiment lasted for 4 weeks. The results showed as follows:1) the body weight (BW), average daily gain (ADG) and feed to gain ratio (F/G) in experimental groups were all better than those in the control group. When the dietary linoleic acid level was 1.12%, the BW was the largest and the F/G was the lowest. 2) The serum total cholesterol (TCH) content in groups Ⅵ and Ⅴ was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.01), the serum triglyceride (TG) content in groups Ⅳ and Ⅴ was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05), the serum high density lipoproteins-cholesterol (HDL-C) content in groups Ⅳ and Ⅴ was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.01), the serum low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C) content in group Ⅳ was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). 3) The total antioxidant capability (T-AOC) and the activities of total superoxide dismutase (T-SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) in serum and liver were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.01). 4) The Bursa of Fabricius index in group Ⅳ was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.01), the serum immunoglobulin G (IgG) content in group Ⅲ was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05), the antibody titer of avian influenza in group Ⅲ was significantly higher than that in the control group after immunization 14 days. In conclusion, the appropriate linoleic acid level in wheat and soybean meal type diet have significant effects on growth performance, lipid metabolism, antioxidant capacity and immune function of goslings. By the comprehensive analysis the optimal level of linoleic acid in wheat and soybean meal diet for goslings is 1.12%.
