Abstract

Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs), are a class of small peptides that widely exist in many creatures in nature, and they are essential components of the innate immune system. AMPs, as a potential alternative to the traditional antibiotics, gain more extensive attention; however, the resistance of bacteria to AMPs as well as to antibiotics should not be ignored. This review summarized the resistance of bacteria to AMPs and it's mechanism from three aspects of planktonic bacteria, biofilm and signal regulatory.
