Abstract

Lipids are the one of the three main-nutrients, which supply and storage energy for the body, and involved in regulation the body metabolism. The relationship between dietary lipids and their metabolite with the gut microbiota has great significance in the host physiological and metabolism. The component and content of fatty acids will affect the balance of intestinal microbiota, and the gut microbiota will also affect the content of short-chain fatty acids in hindgut, which influences energy supply and health state of the body. This review summarized the interaction between intestinal microbiota and fatty acids in the body as well as its mechanism, in order to provide a theoretical basis for the species selection and the ratio of fatty acids in the diet.
