Abstract

Mammalian intestinal microbes have strong host specificity and play an important role on the intestinal health extremely. Healthy microbiota can contribute to intestinal homestasis, maintain intestinal epithelial function, and promote the development of the immune system. And immune system development, metabolism also can be affected by the changes in the intestinal microbiota. In intestinal microbial and host immune regulation, miRNAs not only affect intestinal epithelial function by regulating host gene expression, but also involve in the host innate and adaptive immune system. This article was focus on the interaction between gut microbes and host immunity and the involvement of miRNAs in regulatory mechanisms.
