Abstract

Detecting the acute phase proteins (APPs) level can be used as a method for estimating animal innate immune response to disease. The paper briefly summarized the structure, functions and modulation mechanism of APPs in animals under stress. It was indicated that APPs would be a new technique in animal health monitoring in the future.

Key words: APPs; stress; cytokines
