Abstract

Probiotics are a kind of prospective feed additive, which have no drug resistance or drug residues. Enterococci are fascinating microorganisms that once ingested produce beneficial effects to the host. In this context, emphasis is given to describe the taxonomy, survival characteristics and functional properties of the probiotic enterococci as well as its application as an animal feed additive.
