Abstract

Arginine is essential for young mammals and poultry. It not only can significantly increase immunity, improve performance, and regulate metabolism, but also has an irreplaceable effect on feed intake. Various pathways were involved in the absorption, transportation and metabolism of arginine, which resulted in more complicated mechanisms for regulating feed intake by arginine. This review mainly summarizes the mechanisms and partial influencing factors for regulating feed intake by arginine.
