Vitamin D3: Immune function and Its Regulation of Immune Cells and Immune Factors in Poultry

Abstract

Vitamin D3 is a novel neuroendocrine-immune modulator and has functions in controlling proliferation and differentiation of monocytes/macrophages, T lymphocytes, B lymphocytes, thymus cell, and secreting antibody, lymphokines, complement and monokine of those immune cells. However, so far, studies on vitamin D3 regulation function of immune cells and immune factors have scarcely been reported in poultry. The paper showed present satiation and prospects of some researches on vitamin D3 immune functions and its regulation of T lymphocytes, antigen presenting cells, and immune factors in poultry.
