Abstract

The performance of sows in the whole life and economic benefits in pig industry are largely influenced by the nutrition of replacement gilts. The replacement gilts should store adequate nutrients in the body to meet the requirement of reproduction in the whole life. This article reviews the effects of some nutrients such as energy, calcium, phosphorus and vitamin E on sows' performance, and gives some suggestions for gilts nutrition studies.
