Abstract

Enolase 1 (ENO1) is a key enzyme for glycometabolic and a principal component for eye lens. Recent accumulated research evidences showed that ENO1 had more functions, such as promoting plasminogen activation and plasmin activity, driving the process of myogenesis and muscle regeneration, regulating cell apoptosis, and mediating the process of the development and progression of tumor. In summary, ENO1 is a multi-biological functional protease, which has potentially values for disease diagnosis and prognosis.
