Abstract

Researches in epigenetics have gained wide attention, but relative studies regarding farm animals are still in an infancy period. Epigenetics include three aspects: histone modification, DNA methylation and microRNA regulation. This review focused on the advances of the effect of feed additives, such as butyrate and plant extracts, on model animal and livestock as inhibitors of histone deacetylases (HDAC).
