Abstract

In the fermentation and storage processes of silage, it is easy to be contaminated by harmful microorganisms and their metabolic toxins, which can reduce the quality of silage and the production performance of ruminants, and seriously endanger the health of animals and humans. This paper reviewed the types of harmful microorganisms in silage and the action mechanism of its metabolites affected the nutritive quality and oxygen stability of silage, and measures and methods for inhibiting harmful microbes during fermentation of silage, which was to provide theoretical basis for development of high quality additive, optimization of fermentation environment, inhabitation of growth of harmful microorganisms and improve the nutritional quality of silage.
