Abstract

The objective of the current experiment was to investigate the effects of different proportions of wet fermented soybean meal supplementation on the growth performance, antioxidant capability and intestine healthy of broilers. A total of 768 one-day-old Cobb broilers were randomly divided into 4 groups with 12 replicates per group and 16 broilers per replicate (half male and half female). Broilers in the control group were fed a basal diet, and those in the experimental groups were fed the basal diet supplemented with 6%, 8% and 10% wet fermented soybean meal with 4.34×106 CFU/g viable bacteria, respectively, in which wet fermented soybean meal and corn meal were premixed at a ratio of 3:7 and then added into the compound diet. The experiment lasted for 42 days. The results showed as follows:1) with the increase of dietary wet fermented soybean meal proportion, the growth performance of broilers was significantly improved (P<0.05), the slaughter performance, immune organ indices and meat quality of broilers were improved, but the differences were not significant (P>0.05). 2) There were no significant differences in serum biochemical indices among all groups (P>0.05). With the increase of dietary wet fermented soybean meal proportion, the serum superoxide dismutase activity of broilers was significantly increased (P<0.05), and the serum malondialdehyde content was significantly decreased (P<0.05). 3) With the increase of dietary wet fermented soybean meal proportion, the villus height and the ratio of villus height to crypt depth in small intestine of broilers were significantly increased (P<0.05). 4) With the increase of dietary wet fermented soybean meal proportion, the Lactobacillus number in cecum of broilers was significantly increased (P<0.05), while the Salmonella number in cecum was significantly decreased (P<0.05). In conclusion, dietary wet fermented soybean meal can significantly improve the growth performance and antioxidant capacity, improve the small intestine morphology, increase the Lactobacillus number in cecum and reduce the Salmonella number in cecum of broilers, and the optimal supplemental proportion is 10%.
