Abstract

Lysine is one of the most important limiting amino acids in ruminants, adding rumen-protected lysine to the diet can help to regulate dietary protein level, improve conversion efficiency of nitrogen and immune function of animals, and improve production performance of animals to a certain extent. Factors such as processing and preparation methods, diet and amino acid interaction can affect the feeding effect of rumen-protected lysine. This review summarizes the related research and application of rumen-protected lysine in ruminant production and the factors affecting its feeding effect, in order to provide reference for further research in the future and promote the green, healthy and sustainable development of ruminant production.
