Abstract

The purpose of this experiment was to study the effects of excessive phytase supplementation in low phosphorus diet on growth performance, slaughter performance, digestive organ indexes, nutrient apparent utilization rates and tibial indexes of broilers. A total of 2 160 one-day-old Ross 308 commercial male broiler chickens were randomly divided into 5 groups with 12 replicates per group and 36 birds per replicate. Broilers in the positive control group (PC group) were fed a basal diet, broilers in the negative control group (NC group) were fed a low phosphorus diet (the calcium and available phosphorus levels were 0.15% lower than those in PC group), and others in experimental groups were fed low phosphorus diets supplemented with 500 (NC500 group), 1 500 (NC1500 group) and 4 500 FTU/kg (NC4500 group) phytase, respectively. The experiment lasted for 39 days. The results showed as follows:1) the body weight at 14, 25 and 38 days of age and the average daily gain (ADG), average daily feed intake (ADFI) and fattening index during 1 to 14 days of age, 15 to 25 days of age and 1 to 38 days of age of NC and NC500 groups were significantly lower than those of PC group (P<0.05). Except the ADFI during 1 to 38 days of age of NC4500 group was significantly higher than that of PC group (P<0.05), the body weight at 38 days of age and the ADG, ADFI and fattening index during 1 to 38 days of age of NC1500 and NC4500 groups were no significant difference compared with PC group (P>0.05). 2) The calcium apparent utilization rate of NC group was significantly lower than that of PC group (P<0.05), and the average daily calcium excretion of NC500, NC1500 and NC4500 groups was significantly lower than that of PC group (P<0.05). The phosphorus apparent utilization rate of NC500, NC1500 and NC4500 groups was significantly higher than that of NC and PC groups (P<0.05), and the average daily phosphorus excretion was significantly lower than that of NC and PC groups (P<0.05). 3) The tibial strength of NC group was significantly lower than that of other groups (P<0.05), and the tibial strength of NC4500 group was significantly higher than that of other groups (P<0.05). 4) The liver index at 26 and 39 days of age of NC group was significantly higher than that of PC group (P<0.05), the jejunum and ileum indexes at 26 days of age of NC1500 and NC4500 groups were significantly higher than those of PC and NC groups (P<0.05), and the liver, pancreas, duodenum, jejunum indexes at 39 days of age of NC1500 and NC4500 groups were significantly higher than those of NC group (P<0.05). 5) The percentage of eviscerated yield and percentage of legs of NC group were significantly lower than those of PC group (P<0.05), the percentage of eviscerated yield of NC1500 and NC4500 groups was significantly higher than that of NC group (P<0.05), and the percentage of legs of NC500, NC1500 and NC4500 groups was significantly higher than that of NC group (P<0.05). 6) Compared with PC group, the economic benefit per chicken of NC1500 and NC4500 groups increased by 0.61 and 0.49 Yuan, respectively. In conclusion, under this experiment condition, the excessive phytase supplementation in low phosphorus diet can improve the growth performance and slaughter performance of broilers, improve the utilization rates of calcium and phosphorus and tibia strength, and improve economic benefits, and the suitable addition of phytase is 4 500 FTU/kg.
