Abstract

This experiment was conducted to study the effects of bacteria-enzyme combined preparation on growth performance, nutrient apparent digestibility, rumen fermentation parameters and serum biochemical indexes of Tan sheep. Forty-eight 4-month-old healthy castrated beach lambs with similar body weight[(19.12±1.83) kg] were randomly divided into 4 groups with 3 replicates in each group and 4 lambs in each replicate. Sheep in 4 groups were fed basal diets supplemented 0 (control group), 0.05%, 0.10% and 0.15% bacteria-enzyme combined preparation (active yeast 1.0×1010 CFU/g, cellulase 10 000 IU/g, xylanase 1 000 IU/g and mannanase 600 IU/g), respectively. The pre-test period lasted for 14 days, and the experimental period lasted for 134 days. The results showed as follows:1) compared with the control group, dietary supplemented 0.05%, 0.10% and 0.15% bacteria-enzyme combined preparation significantly increased the final body weight and average daily feed intake of Tan sheep (P<0.05); dietary supplemented 0.10% and 0.15% bacteria-enzyme combined preparation significantly increased the average daily gain of Tan sheep (P<0.05), and significantly decreased the feed to gain ratio (P<0.05). 2) Compared with the control group, dietary supplemented 0.05%, 0.10% and 0.15% bacteria-enzyme combined preparation significantly increased the apparent digestibility of dry matter, organic matter and neutral detergent fiber in diet (P<0.05), dietary supplemented 0.10% and 0.15% bacteria-enzyme combined preparation significantly increased the apparent digestibility of crude protein in diet (P<0.05). 3) Compared with the control group, dietary supplemented 0.05%, 0.10% and 0.15% bacteria-enzyme combined preparation significantly increased the contents of volatile fatty acids, acetic acid and propionic acid in rumen fluid (P<0.01), significantly increased the rumen fluid valeric acid content (P<0.05), and significantly decreased the ammonia nitrogen content and acetic acid/propionic acid in rumen fluid (P<0.05); dietary supplemented 0.10% and 0.15% bacteria-enzyme combined preparation significantly increased the rumen fluid butyric acid content (P<0.05), and significantly decreased the rumen fluid isovaleric acid content (P<0.05). 4) Compared with the control group, dietary supplemented 0.05%, 0.10% and 0.15% bacteria-enzyme combined preparation significantly increased the contents of total protein, albumin, globulin and immunoglobulin G in serum (P<0.05); dietary supplemented 0.10% and 0.15% bacteria-enzyme combined preparation significantly decreased the contents of urea nitrogen and creatinine in serum (P<0.05), significantly increased the contents of glucose and triglycerides in serum (P<0.05), and significantly increased the serum immunoglobulin M content (P<0.01). In conclusion, dietary supplementation of bacterium-enzyme combined preparation can increase the nutrient apparent digestibility, improve the rumen fermentation parameters and serum biochemical indexes, and further improve the growth performance of Tan sheep. The optimal addition amount of bacteria-enzyme combined preparation is 0.10%.
