Abstract

Gastrointestinal nematodes are important parasites that inhibit the growth of ruminants. The infection rate of gastrointestinal nematodes in grazing ruminants in China is as high as 70%. However, the current research on the negative effects of gastrointestinal nematodes on ruminants and their control measures is relatively weak in China. In recent years, with the rapid development of biotechnology, great progress has been made in the research on the negative effects of gastrointestinal nematode infection on ruminants and its control measures. This paper reviewed the necessity of research on ruminant gastrointestinal nematodes and the research status of control measures, as well as the changes in host animals caused by ruminant gastrointestinal nematodes, especially the negative effects on host animal immune and nutrition metabolism, aiming to clarify the interaction between host animals and gastrointestinal nematodes and their significance, and provide a theoretical basis for the anti-parasite mechanism of ruminants.
