Abstract

Failure to thrive (FTT) suckling piglet is the healthy suckling piglet whose weight gain in the first two weeks of lactation is significantly lower than the others piglets with normal weight gain. FTT suckling piglet is high incidence and key target of diarrhea post weaning. This article briefly sorts out the characteristics, the adverse effect on pig production and the relevant regulatory measures on FTT suckling piglet, which might provide theoretical and application references for rescuing weak piglets and improving the efficiency of pig production.
