Glutaredoxin and thioredoxin,the key members of the antioxidant enzyme system and antioxidant non-enzyme system in animal body, respectively, with many kinds of biological activities,play an important role on regulating redox reaction, intestine protection and inhibition of apoptosis in the body. Combining with the structure and function, antioxidant mechanism and inhibition of apoptosis of glutaredoxin and thioredoxin in recent researches, the biological effects of glutaredoxin and thioredoxin on antioxidative stress of animals were reviewed in this paper.［Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition, 2010，22（4）:845-850］
